First of all, A big-cat thanks to all those readers who responded to my request for cat photos.
Special thanks to Pat for sending in Chess. Pat also directed me to a cat rescue website from where I’ve ordered a cute, quirky ring. It’s got miniature cat ears! I was going to post a photo of me modelling it, but as it’s not yet arrived, I’ll spare you that horror.
Also, thanks to Melody for the cutest kittens ever. And finally, to Teresa for relating her memories about a barn cat called Spooks. (what a brilliant name for a white cat.) Spooks left her kittens with a babysitting cattle dog while she went hunting.
On to Books: I’m relieved to say, the paperback of The Murder Before Merangs is finally out.
I’ve ordered a copy for my friend who claims she can’t download the ebook for technical reasons and hasn’t read it so far. Mmm, she’s heavily into Jack Reacher at the moment, and I suspect she wants to stay in the fast lane.
Look what another friend baked me for my birthday last month! I was so touched she’d gone to all that effort.
Four of us went to Sandsend on The East Coast, and I insisted we take a birthday dip in the North Sea without a wet suit. You definitely don’t need photos of that. I don’t know what I was trying to prove, and It's a wonder I've got any friends left. Actually, it backfired on me, as I was the one to get the shakes and couldn't drive home.
Back to books: Reviews are so crucial to authors. Without reviews, we're shouting out to an empty room, and for us introverted attention seekers, that's not good a good place. If you’ve read The Murder Before Merangs, I’d be delighted if you could leave a review. I wanted to insert a link to the review section but couldn’t fathom how to do that. But if you click on the link above and scroll to the bottom of my Amazon page, the review section is there.
Also, I'm looking for advance readers for my next book, The Murder Above Merangs. For those readers who enjoy reviewing books, I'd like to send you a FREE copy prior to publication in the hope that you would post an honest review on Amazon or Goodreads. No pressure, though. If you accepted the book but didn't get time to read or review it, that wouldn't be a problem. Life gets in the way of the best of us sometimes.
Please reply to this email if you're interested, and I'll send you further details.
Finally, below are some books you may be interested in.
These are cosy mysteries and are mainly cafe related. That’s right up my street.
And these have a touch of romance. Oh, la-la.
If you’re still here, thanks for reading. xx
