Have You Got Time For a Quickie? 😂
I'm going to be brief, as I've just busted my corsets in finishing the first book in my new series. I can't tell you how many deadlines have flown past.
And when I say finish, I'm lying! 🤥
What I've completed is a rough first draft, which has got more holes in it than a pair of fishnet tights on a raunchy night out.
I'm happy with the series title: Teatime Crimes, but not so sure about the book title: Death She Typed. It's set around a typing pool in the 1960's. What do you think? Have you got any better ideas? (For continuity, the other titles in the series have to be in the same format, starting with the word Death).
Without coming up for air, I’m about to put my Merangs short story collection through the wringer with my critique group. I’m hoping to publish this by the end of the year, complete with illustrations. Don't hold me to that, though, as I’ve not sharpened my pencil in years.
I promised I'd be quick, so Toodle-oo for now, as Maud, my new character, would say.
Love from Carole xxxx

Thanks, Leslie. As you will see, the shorts include Helen and Prue. And you're right, I can't keep away. I'm thinking of doing a Christmas Merangs, but that will be next year. 😄
This made me laugh. Always got time for a quickie! And it sounds as though there are some on the way, what with those shorts currently going through the wringer. And you are doing drawings, too? Looking forward to seeing them.
It's a shame to see the end of Merangs (I don't really believe you won't return) but excited to hear about Death, She Typed. Sounds to me like a great title, with a witty nod to Death, She Wrote. but I'll let others more inventive than me to come up with other ideas.
Get cracking, and stop keeping us in suspenders!
