First of all, a warm welcome to all new subscribers. In case youβre wondering why Iβm clogging up your inbox, you possibly downloaded my book, The Murder Before Merangs.
In case you didn't receive it, here's the link again.
The ebook came out on the 1st of January, and Iβve only just got to grips with formatting the paperback. I knew it would be trickier than the ebook, but for a clueless novice like me, it was a steep learning curve. At one stage I almost gave up. Who reads paperbacks anyway? Quite a lot of people, actually - including myself.
It was the single words at the top or bottom of a page that got me. Apparently, thereβs a special typesetting term for them. In short, they dangle there looking odd and are frowned upon by those in the know.
And I had a whole busload of them!
I spent hours jiggling the text and trying to incorporate the strays, but it was like dealing with that Hydra character. I got rid of one and created two more.
So, that covers the mythological creature, and now we're on to cats. I'm always happy to meet one in a book, especially as I no longer have one at home.
I used to have three, Dave, Ian, and Elvis. They lost their nine lives years ago, and at the moment, I can't have another. So, I've put one in my next book.
She's called Snowy, and enters Helen's life from an unexpected source. I've had enough experience of cats to know all Snowy's traits but can't quite visualise her β except she's all white β maybe with a few little marks?
I was just wondering but ...π€
Would there be anyone out there happy to send me a photo of their white cat that I could use as inspiration? Snowyβs here to stay and will feature in the rest of the series. As a guide, Snowy's not a kitten and has been around the block a few times.
That would be perfect. (See, I've not gone for the obvious pun.) And I would be extremely grateful. You and your cat will even get an acknowledgement in the book.

That's all for now. Happy Reading.
P.S. Donβt forget about those cats π
P.P.S. I'm awaiting the proof copy of my paperback and have already realised there's a typo on the cover. π π
